He supports clients navigating depression, anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, identity concerns, motivation struggles, and major life transitions, with a particular focus on the experiences of men and teenage boys. Originally from rural New Hampshire, Jared grew up in a close-knit community and spent his early adulthood traveling, teaching, and working in a variety of roles across the U.S. and abroad—including a year in Rwanda teaching English and supporting refugee programs. These experiences shaped his appreciation for the many ways people make meaning in their lives. Jared earned his bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Utah and later completed his Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Bellevue University. After moving to Jackson nearly a decade ago, he and his wife have built their life and family in the Tetons, and he feels deeply grateful to serve this community. Jared’s clinical work integrates trauma-informed, existential, cognitive behavioral, and mindfulness-based approaches, along with elements of DBT, Gestalt, and Socratic inquiry. He is trained in crisis intervention and suicide prevention and has experience providing individual counseling, facilitating men’s groups, and implementing parenting workshops. He especially values working with clients as they create, search for, or struggle with meaning—helping them explore the beliefs, stories, and patterns that shape their lives. Jared also enjoys working with individuals from rural and religious backgrounds and is spiritually informed in a way that supports clients of diverse belief systems. In therapy, Jared aims to create a thoughtful, collaborative space where clients can slow down, clarify what matters, and move toward lives that feel more coherent and self-directed. His style is warm, curious, and steady, encouraging clients to explore both their inner world and the practical steps that support meaningful change. Outside the office, Jared can often be found skiing, trail running, canoeing, or cooking over fire with his wife and two children.
